The Science Department offers a full range of courses in astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, environmental studies, and horticulture. Science courses are frequently the foundation courses for programs that lead to an AA or AS degree, or fulfill the general education requirement.

The Science department is the home for the following degrees and certificates:

Associate in Arts Degree

Associate in Science Degree

Certificate

Courses are delivered via multiple modalities: face-to-face (lecture and lab on campus), hybrid (lecture online, lab on campus), or online (lecture online, may have a virtual lab). They are designed to emphasize cross curriculum competencies such as critical thinking, oral, written, and presentation skills, and quantitative skills. Independent thinking is very much encouraged, and on- and off- campus internships are available to interested students.
